THE JOURNEY MATTERS.
SO DOES WHAT COMES NEXT.

A bird's season is more than a position on a results sheet. This landscape puts distance into perspective: open country, mountain terrain, deep valleys, and the final journey to the loft.

For the breeding program, the next question is consistency. Explore the course alongside repeat race performances and offspring results when evaluating the birds behind your next generation.

About the map & elevation data+

THE STATIONS

Release and loft pins come from the supplied Martinez Classic station map. Race labels follow that map. Direct distances are approximate great-circle calculations, so a station's race label may differ from its measured map distance.

THE TERRAIN

Ground profiles sample Mapzen Terrain Tiles at approximately quarter-mile intervals. The highest displayed elevation is the highest sampled point beneath the line. These are approximate terrain values, not GPS flight tracks or surveying measurements.

THE VIEW

3D terrain begins at true height. The 2× control doubles visible relief to make landforms easier to see; elevation numbers stay at their actual sampled values. Imagery and topographic mapping are supplied by USGS The National Map.
